Need Assessment: New Health Care Program

New Health Care Program!

VPWAS is pleased to announce that we have received a Community Grant from the Victoria Foundation to develop a program of Complementary Health Care Services for People Living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C.

The program will be a mix of services offered in our office and services offered in the community at a discount or special rate.

Complementary health care may include things like:

  • acupuncture
  • massage
  • reiki
  • counselling
  • nutrition advice
  • healing touch
  • hypnotherapy

The program will also create a Community Health Fund that can be accessed by VPWAS members to cover costs of medical supplies or treatments not otherwise covered by income assistance or disability.

Help us develop this new program!

We are conducting a Needs Assessment to find out what types of health care services will be most valuable to VPWAS members.

It consists of 22 questions and should take about 5 – 10 minutes to complete.

All answers will be completely confidential and only used in the development of this new initiative.

If you have any questions about the Needs Assessment, or you would prefer to answer the questions in person, please contact Sarah at (250) 382-7927 or send her an email.

Please feel free to forward the assessment to anyone you know who is not currently a member but is eligible for registration (VPWAS membership is open to anyone living with HIV and / or Hepatitis C).

The survey will be open until January 30, 2017.
