This is the 25th candlelight memorial to honour those who have gone before us.

 We apologize for having to cancel the World AIDS Day Vigil at the Legislature Front Steps this December 1st, 2007.

Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather conditions of -0 degree tempertures, the wind, rain and snow of todays beautiful climate here on Vancouver Island, using our better judgement and with the health of our PWA's being our primary concern we chose to keep those persons with compromised immune systems safe from the elements.

We regret any inconvenience that this caused anyone.

VIPWAS commences its Red Ribbon Campaign handing out Red Ribbons promoting HIV/AIDS Prevention & Awareness in downtown Victoria. 

Volunteers are accepting donations throughout the campaign.

Wear a ribbon to show your support for those living with HIV/AIDS.

 Dr. Julio Montaner comes to Victoria.

Vancouver Island PWA Society has invited Dr. Julio Montaner,  a leading HIV/AIDS Specialist in  North America, to come and give a lecture on HIV/AIDS.  With confirmation of his attendance we are completing the logistics for a successful afternoon.

   In 1988, Dr. Montaner joined the faculty at St. Paul's Hospital / University of British Columbia as the Director of the AIDS Research Programme and the Infectious Disease Clinic. He is the director of Clinical Activities for the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.
